8th of January - Back to 1996.

In the afternoon I want to the hospital to visit my grandpa. It’s so terrible to see him like this, He’s nothing more now than a vague shadow of himself. He was (well, maybe still is deep inside) a really clever man, used to work as a professor in universities and a chess champion. And he was funny, alwas joking around. And always kind and generous to everyone. I’ve always admired him, even when he started losing his speaking-skill - now he is unable to talk at all-.

He was lying in the bed when I arrived. But I could see a little smile on his face. He loves me a lot, I spent way more time with my grandparents than any of my friends, that’s why I’m really attached to them and they to me. I know he doesn’t have much time left, and I don’t know how I will survive his loss. I wish I could go back in time and be with him some more…… But hey, wait a minute. I pulled out my phone from my bag and called the Doctor.

- Hey, it’s Anna. Do you have time?- I asked

- I always do have time, I’m a Time Lord.- he answered 

- Good. I have to travel back to the past.

-Oh time travelling, I love that- he said happily- I’ll be there in a minute

And a few seconds later I felt the T.A.R.D.I.S materializing around me.

-So, when do you want to go?

- 1996.

- That wasn’t a very exciting year. I would rather go to 1796.

- No, please, I really want to go to 1996.

- And see yourself as a child.

- Is it a problem? I’m sure we can do it, I really really want to- I used m puppy face

- Alright, alright, you won. It can be dangerous though,so we have to be very careful.

- I will be really careful, I promise

.- Alright then, let’s go to 1996!- and he started the T.A.R.D.I.S.

We landed in a minute. I opened the door. I was in my grandparents’ house but it was really different. Smaller TVs, no computers, no pictures of my little cousins on the walls. And then I heard a kid’s voice from the kitchen. I started going there. But the Doctor grabbed my arm

-No, you shouldn’t go, they will see you.- he said quietly

- I have to go, Doctor, I just have to.

I slightly opened the door to the kitchen. and looked inside. And there she was, a 3 year old little girl with curly hair sitting on the same old chair that they still use. I saw a man and a woman in their 50s sitting there with here. I needed some time to figure out those were my grandparents, 20 years ago. They’ve changed a lot. I saw they ere having dinner.

- Annie, would you like to eat some more? - asked my grandma kindly turning to the little girl who had an empty plate in fron of her.

- Chocolate- I said. Yes it’s defenitely me and I (my 22 year old self) laughed a little. They all looked at my direction, but I luckily had time to hide. I knew they shouldn’t see me.

My grandpa stood up and went to the cupboard to look for chocolate. He found a bar of chocolate and went back to the table.

- We shouldn’t give her chocolate this late in the evening. my grandma said

- Come on, it won’t kill her- and he gave it to me

- Thank you- I said and started eating - They both smiled at me. They were really proud of that little girl. I hope they still are.

A few minutes later they left the kitchen to get the little girl to bed. I quitely ran to another room so they couldn’t see me but I could see them. My grandma changed me to my pajamas and walked me to bed. She wished me goodnight, pet me on my head and kissed me on my cheek. And so did my grandpa. I used to love sleeping at them, I remember very well. I (22 y.o self)  started crying.

- It’s okay - said the Doctor who was standing behind me and hugged me. I hugged him and started sobbing on his shoulder.- We should go back now.

- No-  I cried, I want to stay

- I’m sorry, but there shouldn’t be two of you at the same time. It can cause big damages.

- I don’t care, I want to talk to him just once again

- I’m sorry- he said sadly. - but I can’t let it happen

- I understand - I said resignedly.- Just one more thing I have to do.

I got a pen and piece of paper and wrote a letter:

After I wrote it I gave it to the Doctor. 

-I need you to  wake her up and give this letter to her. I would do it but I know it would cause troubles, so please do it for me. And ask her to give the letter to my grandpa in the morning. Can you do it for me, Doctor?

- Of course, I can. - he said, and he did it. he walked to the bedroom and woke up the little girl.

- Who are you?- She asked when she woke up and saw the Doctor’s face

- Shhh, I’m the Doctor, but it doesn’t matter now. I need you to give this letter to you grandpa in the morning when you wake up. Can you do it?

I nodded, confused

- You are a smart little girl. Now go back to sleep- and he kissed me on the forhead. I laid back and closed my eyes. 

The Doctor left the little girl and came back to me.

- Thank you so much. We can leave now. And we left.

7th of January

Today the weather was sunny and the ground was covered by snow so I went to the park to enjoy it. I walked  quite a lot and listened to music.

There were many cute couples walking holding hands and it made me feel pretty bad. And there were lots of kids playing in the snow, too. Sometimes I really miss being a kid. I was immersed in my thoughts when Iheard a man’s voice behind me.

- Do you wanna build a snowman? - he asked.

I turned and saw the Doctor. He was busy building a  snowman, the bottom ball was already there.

- Yes, of course I do,- I said happily and run to him 

So we did build a cute snowman. 

- I hope he’s not evil. I have experience with evil snow.- he said when we finished

- No, he seems doesn’t seem evil, he’s lovely.

- Yes, but something is missing.- he said and pulled out his fez from his pocket. There must be time lord technology in his coat, because the fez was much bigger than his pocket, And he put the fez on the snowman’s head.- Much better. 

- You really love that hat.

- It’s a fez not an ordinary hat.

- I’m sorry 

- Sadly I can’t sccapt the apology, so I have to do this- and he throw a snowball at me. It hit me on my shoulder

- Hey- I said angrily but smiling- What are you? 6 years old?- but I made a snawball, too and threw it at him.

And he threw one back. I kept going on like this for hours.

6th of January- At the hairdresser’s

When I woke up in the morning my stomach felt funny and I had a killing headache. I must have drunk way too much last night, I was hung over. 

My dad and I went to have pizza at noon. It was really delicious. After that I went to the mall to have my hair trimmed. It haven’t been cut since July, so it was very long and messy.

A girl washed my hair thoroughly and lead me to the place where the hairdresser was waiting for me. I told her what haircut I want and she started cutting my hair. Then I noticed a very happy whistle. I carefully -without turning my head-  looked to my right, the direction of the whistle. And I saw him sitting on the chair right next to mine. He was waving to me. I asked the hairdresser to stop for a moment so I could turn to him.

- Doctor, what the hell are you doing here?

- What do you think? I’m getting a new, cool haircut.- he sad happily and pointed to the hairdresser guy above him.- by this talented young gentleman.

- But why exactly here and now?- I asked

- It’s  a coincidence, I believe.

I gave him a look, and turned back to the hairdresser so she could go on. So now I couldn’t see him anymore just hear him.

- Okay okay, yes, it’s not a idence, I wanted to see you.

- You saw me yesterday.

- It’s yesterday for you but I’ve been travelling a lot since yesterday afternoon.

- Are you travelling without me? - I asked resentfully

- You said you’re busy. Speaking of which, how was your human….. party?

- it was great. It would’ve been boring for you. we were just sitting and drinking most of the time.

- What a waste of time. You should have come to Humaratopia with me instead. I met some really cute monkey-birds, they’re so fluffy, you would’ve loved them.

- I have to live my boring human life sometimes.

- You’re ready- said the guy behind the Doctor - Is it how you wanted it to look? Do you like it?

He stood up and went closer to the mirror to examine his new haircut. It didn’t look very different from the one he had before it was just a bit shorter and less messy.

- Very, very- he started- handsome face! Oh I love this young face.

The hairdresser guy seemed. confused.

- Doctor- I said, laughing- he ased about your hair not your face.

But I had to admit he was indeed very handsome, he alsways is, so smokin’ hot.

- Oh, I’m sorry, yeah I love my hair, it is absolutely cool, like a bow tie. But..- he ran to the hat rack, grabbed his fez and put it on his head. - But now it is just perfect! Thank you mate.- and he kissed him on both cheeks. - Come Anna,we gotta go.

- I’m not ready yet. Wait for me in the…. in that that blue shop

- What blue shop? Oh blue shop - he finally iuunderstood- okay see you there. And he left.

- Your boyfriend is really cute- said the girl behind me. 

- Oh, no, he’s not my boyfriend, he’s just a friend, a very good friend, my best friend. 

5th of January - The Planet of Yoga

We landed a few minutes later. I was wearing my black yoga pants,a purple top I always wear for yoga and slippers. I was very excited. I love when he takes me to other planets. I ran to the door and opened it eagerly. But what I saw wasn’t too pleasing. It looked exactly like…

- An empty room- he said when stepping out of the T.A.R.D.I.S, examining the plain walls- Fascinating

-No it’s not, Doctor. Where are the yogis?

- Shh- he said putting his finger at his lips- Can you hear it?

And then I could hear a very quiet murmuring: ‘Ohmmm, Ohmmm’ I nodded. 

- LEt’s explore this place- he whispered. I nodded again and smiled. Then I followed him out of the room into another. It looked exactly the same as the previous one and sthe next one and the one after that: hazy and perfectly empty.And the ohmm-ing remained the same, too, quiet and distant.

-Where are these people?- I asked quietly and looked at him.

- I don’t want you scare you, Anna, but I think I managed to figure out what’s going on. - he made me really nervous. To be honest I was freaking out.- These are the sound of the souls.

- What?- I asked confused- I don’t understand you.

- What you hear are the souls of the yogis. This is the centre of yoga

- No, it can’t be, Yoga is from India, Earth.

it made him laugh.

- No, it’s not. The centre of yoga is in Yoganavarava, it’s been here for millions of ages. Everyone on this planet does yoga, and when they die their ‘ohmm’ing stays here, forever.

- wow, that’s creepy

- No, it’s beautiful.

- Yeah, I suppose so. But anyway, where is everyone? I mean people that are not dead.

- Outside, I suppose - he said with a smirk

- Then why are we inside of this creepy building?- I was a bit too loud but I couldn’t help,myself I was really mad.

- Calm down. We are going there right now, I just wanted you to hear this beautiful sound of the souls

And then we went out and entered a beautiful garden full of flowers and trees and millions of small, colorful figures doing something that looked like yoga. A very small green guy approached us and shook the Doctor’s hand.

- Hello Doctor, you’re back.- he greeted him with a very charming smile

- Yes, Trilomand, it’s always nice to come here. And this is my friend, Anna. She’s passionate about yoga.

He shook my hand, too.

- Would you like to joing us, young lady?

- Yes… if it’s not a trouble for you -I said nervously. I’m not that good at yoga. Well, I’m one of the clumsiest ones in the group.

- It would be my pleasure. - he said and lead me to an empty mattress.

He showed me many poses and asanas, some of them I’ve never tried before. Somehow my body felt much lighter here than at the earth, there might be some trick with the gravity here. It felt amazing. I lost track of time. It was almost totally dark when I realized the garden got empty, everyone else had already left.

- I’m afraid it’s time we left- said Trilomand - I hope you enjoyed this year

- Year?- I was shocked- no way

- It was a year for us, but for you it must have been just a few hours.

- Good.- I was relieved

- Did you have fun?- asked the Doctor who just turned up.

- Yeah, it was amazing, thank you for bringing me here- I said and hugged him. And what have you been doing?

- I went to visit an old friend. You should meet her, too.

- I would love to but I’m really tired and I have an invitation for a party tonight. I don’t want to be even more exhausted at the party.

- Cool, can I go?

- Well…- I  looked down. I didn’t want him to come, I love him and travelling with him is the most amazing thing ever, but  I’m afraid my friends wouldn’t appreciate him.

- It’s okay- he said smiling when saw my reaction- I actually am really busy.

- I’m sorry

- Don’t be, we had a fantastic day, didn’t we?

- Yeah- I said and smiled

- Let’s go back home! Bye Trilomand, bye Yoganavarava, you’ve been cool again.- and he hurried to the Tardis, I followed him.

I spent the evening at my friend’s and we danced and drank and talked. It was fun. I didn’t talk about my adventures, I never do .I want them to be just mine, something only I have. And I don’t want them to be jealous of me or… ask me to take them with us. Ugh, no.

4th of January- Back to the T.A.R.D.I.S

Now that the holiday season is over I went back to the university. I didn’t have any lectures, but I had to talk to a professor about one of my courses. On the way back home while I was waiting for the bus on the cold street, I heard a familiar sound and a few moments later I noticed me. Then he opened the door with a big smile on his face and a lovely red bow tie under his big chin.

- I missed you- he said still smiling –Happy New Year!

- Happy New Year Doctor!- I smiled and hugged him. He is much taller than me and very skinny, I could feel his bones while hugging him.

- How’s life? – he asked

- Doctor - I said and rolled my eyes

- What?- he looked offended-  I was just trying to be polite. Isn’t it how you humans do it? 

- Yes, it is, but you don’t have to ask, you already know how my life is. You’ve been following me the whole time. 

- No I didn’t - he said shocked- Why would I do something like that?

- Even my mom saw you in the window while decorating the tree.

- I was so glad it didn’t attack you. It happened once to a girl…..a girl I knew and  her mom.

- Rose and Jackie- I said and I suddenly became jealous. He sometimes mentions his previous companions, and to be honest I don’t like it. I hate that I’m not his first one.

He changed the topic.

- Okay, I might have been folloing you, making sure you’re alright.

- You know you can always come in and have a cup of tea or something.

- I know Anna, you’ve told me like a million times. – he changed the topic again, he loves doing that.- But now, don’t wait for that slow bus, come into the T.A.R.D.I.S. She’s missed you too.

- And I missed her, too.

Then I stepped into the T.A.R.D.I.S. - So I guess I won’t have time for my daily yoga session today. I started a 30 day yoga challange the other day, it’s great, you should try it, too

It must have given him a hint because he started smiling like an idiot and running around in the room, pushing buttons and pulling controlers.

- Guess where we are going! - he had to shout because the T.A.R.D.I.S started to make loud noises.

- I have no idea- I shouted back

- Change your clothes and get your yoga mattress ready.- he finally stopped and touched the main controler. - We are going to Yoganavarava- the Planet of Yoga- and he pulled the controler down
